The path to regained strength

Advertisements

There are days when I have no motivation, no drive, no direction.
Days when I want to do something, but simply can’t.
When the idea of doing something feels good, but my body and mind answer with quiet resistance.
I might sit with a cup of coffee, looking out the window, feeling like I should do more —
but everything in me says stop.

On days like these, it feels as if motivation packed its bags and left long before I woke up.
I try to find the spark again, but some days it just isn’t there.
And for a long time, I thought that meant I had given up.
That I was lazy.
That I lacked willpower.

Now I know better.
The truth is, motivation is temporary.
It comes and goes, and some days it doesn’t show up at all.
But hope… hope is different.
Hope stays, even when everything else falls apart.

Because hope isn’t energy.
Hope is direction.
A quiet voice that says:
“You don’t have to do everything today.”
“There will be new days.”
“You’ve made it through before — you’ll make it again.”

Motivation can disappear for weeks.
But hope lives in the small moments:
a gentle morning, a hand on your shoulder, a bit of light through the window, a thought that whispers maybe.
I try to lean on hope when everything else feels heavy.

Because hope doesn’t demand anything from me.
It just exists.
Soft, but strong.
It reminds me that I don’t have to rush, don’t have to catch up,
don’t have to prove anything to anyone.

It simply tells me that I can try again tomorrow.
That I can take one small step.
Or none at all.
And still be moving.

Motivation is a luxury.
Hope is a lifeline.
And maybe that’s why I keep going on the days when I barely move —
because hope reminds me that I’m still on my way,
even when I’m standing still.
